About

Katie Neal
I am going to be honest and say that I struggle writing autobiographical information.  I always end up feeling like a super boring person who is trying to sound cute and interesting. I'm not super musical.  I only speak English.  I stink at throwing and catching things.  And I am a wimp who is scared to death of snakes.

Ok, insecurities out in the open now, here are a few things about me...

I am eternally saved by grace, striving to preach the gospel to myself and others daily.  I often fail.

I am blessed beyond measure.  I don't always feel that reality.  That does not change the fact that it is reality!

I am a Southern girl with country roots whom God transplanted to the Upstate of South Carolina.  I like my tea sweet and throw out terms of endearment left and right.

I have a gorgeous sister, a godly momma and a wise daddy.  We like to just be together.  Going to the mountains really is going home.

Yes, I was homeschooled.  How did you guess?

I had the privilege of studying writing in college and getting a master's degree in biblical counseling. I truly believe 2 Peter 1:3, which tells us that God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness.  If that does not come through in how I think and what I write, I am failing.

I love hymns, theology, books, nature, art museums, and people.  I especially like people who give me dark chocolate and coffee.

My heart's desire is to be a godly woman.  I often fail, so often fail.  But I hope and pray that in the midst of all the junk God is scraping away, you find someone here to relate to.  Someone who sympathizes and empathizes with the ebb and flow of giving and receiving grace.  Someone who is good at stomping her foot when God tells her to wait and one who is slowly learning to "keep a quiet heart" and "do the next thing." (Thank you, Elisabeth Elliot!)  And someone who at the core is finding that Jesus Christ and the Word of God are the only things that satisfy.

"Now to Him who is able to do far more than abundantly than we can ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." ~Ephesians 3:20-21
